42 Berners Street, London

42 Berners Street in London’s Fitzrovia district is a new-build development which replaces two inefficient and outdated office buildings, with one that is both striking and elegant.

The scheme designed by Buckley Gray Yeoman involved the demolition of two existing buildings and construction of a new nine-storey office and retail scheme, using a concrete and steel frame with Portland stone façade and bronze-framed windows.

The building provides approximately 2,043m2 of Grade A specification office space set on floors 1 to 7, with a further 492m2 of retail accommodation on the ground and lower ground floors, all situated in an exceptional location in central London.

Whilst overcoming the restricted access issues that a busy central London scheme inherently provides, Meister Masonry were pleased to aid with the high-end facade of the building by designing, manufacturing, supplying and installing the handset Portland stone cladding to the façades, parapets, and all associated dressings, reveals, copings etc. including all supports, backings, fixings, insulation and waterproof vapour membrane.
